Food Marketing Fellows

Download Food Marketing Fellows Brochure

07 fellowsThe Food Marketing Fellows is an honors program for students with food industry interests and career aspirations. The purpose of the program, which is cosponsored by Tri-land Properties, is to give undergraduate students entering their junior and senior year and a small number of graduate students an intimate, focused perspective of the food industry.

Activities top

Food Marketing Fellows become part of a select group of students who participate in these one-of-a-kind activities:

Food Marketing Colloquia: Each Fellow enrolls in two, 1-credit courses (AEM 4460 and AEM 4470) during their senior year. Food industry executives lead class discussions and students participate in a research project on a timely issue facing the food industry.

Field Trips: Fellows participate in field trips to food companies and serve as ushers at the Food Marketing Institute's Supermarket Industry Convention held in early May.

International Study Trip: Each January the Food Marketing Fellows travel abroad to study the business and marketing strategies of various international food and consumer product companies. Recent destinations have included England, Italy, the Netherlands, Japan, and Ireland. Fellows share a portion of the trip expenses.

amsterdam

Summer Internships: An internship with a food company between the junior and senior years is encouraged. Faculty assist with the placement process, if necessary.

How to Apply top

If you are a sophomore, junior or a graduate student and have an interest in the food industry, you are encouraged to apply. New Fellows are accepted in alternate years with the next class recruitment in 2010. The deadline for submissions is in February 2010.
